Organized by the NSTC in collaboration with Academia Sinica, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the event will be held Oct. 13-15 at Taipei World Trade Center, with a virtual edition taking place Oct. 11-20.

According to the NSTC, the expo will focus on four emerging areas: Artificial Intelligence of Things and smart applications; sustainable energy and evolutionary materials; electronics and optoelectronics; and precision health.

Several global high-tech heavyweights are set to showcase their latest offerings. These include U.S.-based Qualcomm Inc., Germany-headquartered Merck Group, winning teams of the 2022 CES Innovation Awards and startups supported by U.S. innovation accelerator MuckerLab.

In addition to product exhibition, the event will feature forums and thematic discussions covering topics such as semiconductors, net-zero emission targets and sports technology, among other trending issues.

Another highlight will be the presentation of the Tech Innovation Excellence Award and Future Tech Award. A total of 25 teams from countries including Chile, Germany, Japan, the U.K. and the U.S. took part in the inaugural TIE Award, while the latter attracted 566 local submissions.

The NSTC said 11 winning teams of the TIE Award and 81 submissions selected for the FT Award will demonstrate their innovations Oct. 13 and receive their awards during a special ceremony two days later.
