Técnología Natural para la Conservación de Alimentos

Introduction We are seeking innovative technology that will provide a natural method for extending shelf life, preventing food deterioration (oxidation and /or spoilage), and preventing the growth of pathogenic micro-organisms along the full chain of fresh or processed food.
The solution could be effective at any stage, from feedstock, to point of processing, through to consumer use. The technology could be a new natural preservative (plant extract, food grade cultures), natural process/additive for enhancing the activity of existing known natural preservatives (e.g. micro encapsulation), or antimicrobial films or coatings. Alternatively, new production processes or application techniques would also be of interest (oxygen absorbers, intelligent packaging, anti-spore, etc).
New plant extracts are of particular interest, or current known ingredients that have food protection properties, for example, herbal extracts with antimicrobial or antioxidant properties or blends thereof.
The solution technology should show the following:
Trials done in food showing efficacy, stability, working conditions
Should have addressed the safety aspects, toxicity profile
Should be at application stage with provable testing. MSDS sheets.
Process of making should be natural — fermentation, extraction and not synthetic.
Ideally Clean Label or at least Label Friendly
No taste effect or easy to mask
No odour
pH and heat spectrum versatile
Possibly Kosher-friendly
